Rough It Up

January 7, 2010

Oh Creative One! The sidewalks are terrible here in Glasgow. Covered in 6 inches of ice and snow. I pushed my daughter in her stroller this morning for the umpteenth morning on our way to drop my son off at school. It was a pain. My back hurt, I twisted my ankle and I was worried about my daughter. Jostling down sidewalks, I thought she would bite her tongue or hit her chin. I peaked over her buggy, made sure she had her mittens, and found her to be having fun. Loads of fun. On the rough sidewalks, she was giggling and playing with her voice and the bumps.

Sweet Creative One. Today, I invite you to find that piece you’ve worked on forever. It is cool, slick, smooth to the touch. It has high praises from teachers and classmates and critical eyes. Take that piece out and rough it up. Have some fun. Play with your voice and make some bumps.
